To keep active while indoors, try a scavenger hunt!
- Make a list of 10-20 items in your home.
- Try to use as many areas of the home as possible and list things up high and down low. Try to make the order of the list such that there is a lot of backtracking.
- Have the kids climb over and under the bed and up and down stairs if you have them. If it is safe, you can have your child climb on a step stool.
- To add some fun, you can leave stickers or words of wisdom or even letters that will spell out a word at the designated locations. You could even write out an activity for them to do when they find the listed item, such as walk like a crab or jump 5 times.
Other fun activities for the winter that get your body moving are:
Ice skating, building a snowman, having a snowball fight or capture the flag in the snow, snow angels, skiing/snowboarding. Be creative and keep active even when it’s cold outside!
